- A solar eclipse occurs when the Sun. Moon, and Earth come in a straight line and the Moon blocks the rays of the Sun from reaching the Earth
- This will be an annular solar eclipse which will show a ring of fire during the eclipse - also called as annulus
The year 2020 has seen two lunar eclipses already - one on January 10 and the other penumbral lunar eclipse occurred on June 10. Now the first solar eclipse of 2020 will happen on June 21. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Sun, moon, and the earth come in a straight line. The sun is obscured by the moon and creates a shadow on the Earth. However, this will be a partial or annular solar eclipse which means only a part of the sun will be covered.
The Annular solar eclipse is different from a total solar eclipse considering it forms a ring of fire - also called Ring of Fire. The solar eclipse will be visible in Africa and the Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, Pakistan, India, and China.
